About Dinnes
Dinnes often heads out on his motorbike to capture images that resonate with his Highland heritage. He paints where he’s been, what he’s seen, and occasionally what he dreams — his art represents fragments of a life lived across landscape, weather, and imagination.
Compositions depicting wildlife, flora, landscape, and portraiture are produced in watercolour, acrylic, and oil. Certain narrative works feature meetings between characters from differing timelines, blending realism and surreal storytelling. One example, ‘Talk Like an Egyptian’, received the Winner’s Award at the 2019 Shell-sponsored Fife Arts Exhibition.
His work is displayed at both solo and open exhibitions.
His technique bridges the traditional and the contemporary, capturing moments in time, memory, and motion — from quiet shorelines to the rush of Highland weather. Dinnes invites viewers into the traveller’s palette: “We can all create — it’s good for the soul.”
